Re-employment Adaptation Experience of Nurses

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the experience of the re-employment of nurses.
Methods: The data was collected by face-to-face interview from eight nurses. The main question was "How do you describe your experience of re-employment?" The collective data were analyzed using a grounded theory methodology developed by Strauss and Corbin (1998). All interviews were audio taped and transcribed verbatim.
Results: As a result, 95 concepts, 36 subcategories and 12 categories were deduced from open coding process. The Phenomenon is "Try to search for life"s value through the works". The core category was identified with "Being newly settled". This series of process was categorized into four stage: "recognition", "attempt", "adjustment", "adaptation".
Conclusion: The finding of this study will offer profound information on the re-employment nurse"s experience and contribute to the development of intervention program for re-employment nurse.
